We’re excited to announce that Albert Lang, head of New Practice and professor at TU Berlin/UdK, has been appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of Performing Tangier 2025, hosted by the International Center for Performance Studies.

This 21st edition investigates how performance, theory, and history intersect through decolonial critique, challenging Eurocentric frameworks and assumptions. As the call states:

“Historiography questions methodologies, epistemological assumptions, and evolving paradigms that shape historical narratives, focusing on underlying analytical processes instead of mere event recording.”

The conference also addresses the challenges faced by scholars of non-European performance traditions pressured to conform to dominant frameworks.

Call for Papers open to researchers in Performance Studies, theater history, Cultural Studies, anthropology, Postcolonial Studies, and related fields.

يسعدنا أن نعلن تعيين ألبرت لانغ، رئيس قسم New Practice وأستاذ في TU Berlin/UdK، في المجلس الاستشاري العلمي لمؤتمر "Performing Tangier 2025" (أداء طنجة)، الذي ينظمه المركز الدولي لدراسات الأداء (International Center for Performance Studies).

تستكشف هذه الدورة الحادية والعشرون تقاطعات الأداء والنظرية والتاريخ عبر النقد الديكولونيالي، متحديةً الأطر المعرفية ذات المركزية الأوروبية. وكما يُذكر في الدعوة:

"يتساءل علم التأريخ عن المناهج والافتراضات الإبستمولوجية والنماذج المتغيرة التي تشكّل السرديات التاريخية، مركزًا على العمليات التحليلية الكامنة بدلاً من مجرد تسجيل الأحداث."

ويناقش المؤتمر أيضًا التحديات التي يواجهها الباحثون في التقاليد الأدائية غير الأوروبية تحت ضغوط الامتثال للأطر المرجعية المهيمنة.

ندعو الباحثين في مجالات: دراسات الأداء، تاريخ المسرح، الدراسات الثقافية، الأنثروبولوجيا، الدراسات ما بعد الاستعمارية، والمجالات ذات الصلة لتقديم مقترحاتهم البحثية.
